Wild soul

Woods and Trees: the escape route to salvation!

"... during the session we met a reptilian and asked him a couple of questions:

Q: How can you get out of this Matrix?

A: Even by going into the woods, a man arrives at his origins. Pack your suitcase, take the train and go where there are no people, where there is only the earth and the sky. Throw away all the wrappings, detach everything, be an aboriginal, a Robinson Crusoe, and you will understand what I am talking about. No reptilian will dare touch you."

I think that all of us, more or less, have felt that strange sensation that pervades us when entering the woods, in some woods in particular, that sensation that fills our soul and makes us lower the tone of our voice, makes us walk almost on tiptoe, it is the sensation of having crossed a threshold, of having entered a sacred place, a place full of energy, spirituality and perhaps even magic.

If you enter a wood as you enter a shopping center, if you enter without feeling anything, if you bring your futile conversations even to these places, continuing to talk about your own business out loud, whether you are accompanied or even if you are alone, continuing the chatter of the mind inside you, if your only interest is looking for mushrooms and not beauty and connection, if you do not look for yourself but simply cross the woods, then you are in the wrong place, you are just an element of disturbance, out of place.

Because the forest is above all this: a part of itself, the oldest, deepest, truest. Perhaps this is why over time they have always scared us and discouraged us from going into the woods, painting them as dark places full of dangers, like wild beasts or the panic fear of getting lost. More than the danger of getting lost, perhaps they wanted to keep us away from the "danger" of finding ourselves, because then we would have gotten lost instead for those who would want us to be obedient sheep who stay good and quiet in the safety of the enclosure. Perhaps precisely to prevent us from meeting ourselves they invented these thousand fears, and to prevent us from meeting other worlds and other realities.

In addition to a powerful physical and spiritual energy, in the forest we can also encounter real portals that can introduce us to other dimensions and other perceptions, other visions of reality, we can encounter wild animals that are spiritual messengers, we can find principles enclosed in herbs, mushrooms or bark, which have always been used in ancient times, by wise and conscientious people, to have access to a superior form of knowledge, we can have visions of other entities, mystical, ecstatic experiences, or "simply" experiences of deep well-being and inner peace, of harmony

The forest is truly an intricate tangle of cosmic energies in which we can slip into to recharge, purify and learn. Today it is fashionable to do yoga in the forest, do forest-bathing and things like that, yes all beautiful and interesting things, but you don't need to sign up for a course or have a teacher, your legs are enough, to walk and get to the forest.

Undress before entering the forest, if not physically at least metaphorically, undress your thoughts and roles, enter without preconceptions and expectations, enter without your name, your profession, your identity. Enter freely and you will come out free, but with a difference: richer! And you don't need an exotic adventure in the Amazon forest or a holiday in a renowned location in the Dolomites, you will have a little forest near your home! If it is wild it is better, if it is out of the way or unknown even better, it will be your little secret refuge.

There is infinite beauty in the primordial chaos of a forest.

Exploring the woods

Itineraries, ideas and suggestions

It is not difficult to find a beautiful forest in which to go for a walk, but below I will try to give you some suggestions, without going into too much detail, because if you have to find yourself you must not bring along someone else's ideas.

The weather is a very important factor in creating the atmosphere and suggestion of a forest, do not believe that the best days are the clear and sunny ones, the most suggestive atmospheres are found with the fog, which can create truly mystical scenarios, moreover it is a very engaging experience to walk in the forest under a light rain, not to mention the autumn colors, or the phantasmagorical shapes that you find just after a good snowfall. Not to mention the lights and colors of the evening, and even the darkness and the night have their great charm.

And these just mentioned are only the most superficial aspects that you can observe with your eyes, but the forest will pervade you with all your senses: it will enter you through every pore of your skin, it will inebriate you with its scents, its essences, with your skin you will be able to come into contact with the bark of the trees, with the softness of the moss, with the caresses of the leaves. And your ears will be able to hear a thousand light and relaxing sounds: the rustling of the wind, the dripping of the rain or of some distant stream, the creaking of the swaying trees, the sound of your own footsteps on the earth, on the stones or on the leaves is a delicious accompaniment

Here I will tell you, through images, some of the most beautiful and evocative forests that I know, while at the bottom of the page I can give you some general summary indications. A recommendation that is always valid in nature: do not bring your everyday life with you! Strip yourself of everything!

Some ideas and useful links

Referring to the area where I live, that is the province of Parma, I can point you to some areas where there are beautiful woods, namely:

- In the surroundings of Borgo Taro the chestnut woods of Monte Molinatico are very beautiful, a small road that branches off from the super road in the valley will take you up into the woods to a small refuge, often closed. Shortly after Roccamurata follow the signs for Ostia Parmense and then for Baselica, after a cemetery on the right you will find the signs for Monte Molinatico

- The upper Parma Valley is a land of boundless beech forests: reach Bosco di Corniglio and follow the signs for Lagdei, where you can park and follow some of the many paths that go into the woods in every direction, you can reach the beautiful Lago Santo in just under an hour's walk. The dirt road that leads to the Lagoni is also very beautiful, one of my favorite places, here you will not lack woods and lakes. The road is passable by car, but is closed in the presence of snow, it remains passable as a path with snowshoes, and is really worth a visit.

- In the upper Val Taro, the forests of Monte Penna are another enchanting place, there is a beautiful dirt road that surrounds the entire group of Monte Penna and Monte Trevine, in winter when there is snow it is an excellent ring to do with snowshoes to enjoy the forest in a wonderful season. One stretch is asphalted, but most of it is dirt, so without traffic, even if some cars also pass on the dirt road. However, there is no shortage of paths to go into the heart of the forest.

- A few kilometers from the city, after passing Collecchio, turn left for Corte di Giarole, or in Gaiano turn right onto Via Libertà and continue until the asphalt road ends, near the ancient church of Oppiano: from here you can go down into the beautiful riparian forest that runs along the ancient Naviglio Taro canal, and also take a long circular route. Returning to Collecchio there are then the Carregha woods, which need no introduction, with their small lakes.

- To stay in Emilia, the woods that you cross along the Sentiero delle Cascate that starts from the village of Sant'Anna Pelago, in the Modena area, are beautiful, as are the woods that surround the fabulous Dardagna waterfalls, in the Bologna Apennines. If you are at the seaside instead, in Romagna, do not miss the beautiful pine forests around the Ferrara beaches, in particular the pine forest of Lido di Volano is very rich in wildlife, deer and fallow deer, and further north is the famous Bosco della Mesola.

- In Liguria, in the Cinque Terre area, if you want to see beautiful forests with a sea view, walk along the highest paths, you will find many forests. Lower down, while the landscape is still magnificent, the presence of man and his work on the landscape is obviously more marked.

- In Tuscany, along the Tyrrhenian Sea, after Livorno towards Piombino, there are boundless magnificent pine forests facing the sea! Also in Tuscany, Lunigiana is full of magnificent forests, go looking for waterfalls, and you will cross beautiful forests. For example, to go up to the Fiagianelli waterfall you cross a "mysterious" chestnut grove, especially in the presence of fog, or to go to Piscio di Pracchiola you cross a beautiful forest.
