International Environment Day

Oggi si "festeggia" la giornata internazionale per l'ambiente, e su tutti i media si ripetono all'infinito le solite frasi vuote ed i soliti buoni propositi che da anni vengono puntualmente disattesi.  Proprio non capisco come le persone continiuino a credere a queste patetiche farse. 

Bisogna salvare il pianeta, bisogna proteggere la Natura, si ripete a gran voce sul gran teatrino dei media, ma poi nei nostri comportamenti quotidiani non cambia mai assolutamente nulla.  Sono solo espressione del nostro delirio di onnipotenza queste frasi e questi intenti salvifici. 

Alla fine siamo noi a vivere in un immondezzaio, alla Natura è indifferente come viviamo noi. E' come se sporcassimo in casa nostra, e poi vivessimo nella sporcizia, mangiando e bevendo cose sporche e insalubri, respirando veleni, dormento tra i rifiuti. Forse siamo un po' perversi, forse ci piace tutto questo questo, ci piace lo sporco e l'immondo, o forse siamo talmente imbruttiti ed intristiti dentro che non ci facciamo più caso, siamo diventati indifferenti. Probabilmente siam solo stolti, pensando che una volta pulito il nostro piccolo appartamento e la nostra auto, siamo a posto, ed il resto non ci riguardi.

Fatto stà che non abbiamo ancora capito il nocciolo della questione: dobbiamo proteggere noi stessi, non la Natura. La Natura si protegge da sola, non ha bisogno di noi, la Natura quando vuole ci spazzerà via con un soffio.

Today the international day for the environment is celebrated, and the usual empty phrases and the usual good intentions are repeated over and over in all the media, which for years have been regularly disregarded. I just don't understand how people still believe these pathetic farces.

We must save the planet, we must protect the Nature, it is repeated loudly on the great media theater, but then in our daily behavior absolutely nothing changes. These phrases and these saving intentions are only an expression of our delirium of omnipotence. 

In the end, it is we who live in a garbage dump, it is indifferent to Nature how we live. It is as if we dirty our house, and then we lived in the dirt, eating and drinking dirty and unhealthy things, breathing poisons, sleeping in the garbage. Maybe we are a bit perverse, maybe we like all this, we like dirty and unclean, or maybe we are so ugly and saddened inside that we no longer notice it, we have become indifferent. We are probably just fools, thinking that once we clean our little apartment and our car, we are fine, and the rest does not concern us.

The fact is that we have not yet understood the crux of the matter: we must protect ourselves, not Nature. Nature protects alone itself, it does not need us, Nature will sweep us away when it wants.
