L'ultimo ghiaccio

Esiste una geografia del pensiero: vi sono le zone miti e temperate, le più affollate; le calde e le fredde, già molto meno abitate; infine le zone dell'equatore e delle nevi permanenti, dei soli e dei ghiacci intollerabili, dove soltanto pochi, e per breve tempo, si avventurano.

There is a geography of thought: there are the mild and temperate areas, the most crowded; the hot and cold, already much less inhabited; finally, the areas of the equator and permanent snow, suns and intolerable ice, where only a few, and for a short time, venture.
