The beautiful woman's leap

AT THE CONFLUENCE OF THE TESTANELLO AND RIO DEL BASTARDO STREAMERS

The stretch of river between the towns of Ghiare di Berceto and Ostia Parmense hides truly enchanting corners of landscape, in particular here I will illustrate with some photos the stretch of river around the characteristic "salto della bella donna", right in front of the town of Roccamurata.

The "salto della bella donna<"  (beautiful woman's leap) is a characteristic triangular shaped rocky spur that drops sheer to the Taro river, below the waters are beautiful, colorful, clean and deep enough to allow a bath and a nice swim. In this stretch of river two streams flow, from the right come the waters of the "Rio del Bastardo", a small stream that is very beautiful to travel, because it crosses a wild and impervious area, it is not easy and is quite challenging and tiring, but it is worth it (be careful, it is not for everyone). On the left instead comes to an end the Testanello stream, which ends its course with a beautiful waterfall, at the base of which it is pleasant to take a nice bath. With a little resourcefulness, you can also climb the waterfalls to travel along the small valley of the stream, also a beautiful route, without encountering other waterfalls or other noteworthy features, other than a wild and solitary nature.

This particular name, salto della bella donna , comes from an old legend, a mountain "crime news" fact that no one is sure ever really happened, if you are interested, I leave you the link to the blog Al me burgu that tells the story (in italian language, sorry).

In my opinion, it is one of the most beautiful places in the middle Taro valley, easily accessible, or rather probably too easily, unfortunately, because these are rather fragile micro-ecosystems, which would not tolerate an excessive presence of noisy bathers. The noise would be a relative problem, once the radio is turned off it ends there! The problem is the abandoned waste!

You don't need many directions to get there, the place is clearly visible even from the road, I'll stop here.

Oh, I forgot: the waterfall must be booked! Jokes aside, in the summer, if you arrive late in the morning, you will probably find it already occupied!

My posts are not intended to be an invitation to mass invasion, but an invitation to know and appreciate the great beauty that surrounds us, and that we are often not even aware of. living it with love and respect.

Thank you all for your understanding.
